Intervention Services
ED Storti, C.A.D.C. II, B.R.I. II
Over the past 35 years, Ed Storti* has developed and refined a motivational intervention process called The Storti Model (TM) that motivates the
addicted to receive help. Ed has choreographed 3,500 interventions throughout the world using his model and his efforts have touched the lives
of alcoholics, addicts and others suffering from acute illness. His technique has also been modified to intervene on eating disorders, unhealthy
lifestyles, personality disorders and severe medical illness including cancer and HIV. The Storti Model (TM) guides family and friends in
presenting a solution and immediately goes to treatment.
Often times when one is living with a family member addicted to mind altering substances: alcohol, cocaine, prescription drugs, marijuana, etc., one continues to wait for a moment in the addicted's life to spark his/her action toward finally getting help. The myth is that one must wait until the loved one "bottoms out" due to his/her disease of addiction or until he/she asks for help. Sadly, the bottom can mean death, insanity or a painful lifestyle unbecoming for all those involved.
Most people who seek treatment are often forced by negative consequences or threats--usually a crisis involving family, friends, job, legal, disaster, accident, etc. The Storti Model (TM) is designed to create a positive crisis. The foundation of The Storti Model (TM) is based on the theory that since the patient is physically/psychologically deteriorating or dying from an addictive disease ( as most do if they don't get help), why not honor the addicted with a positive presentation in front of them while there is still time- a living eulogy? Ed's philosophy is to present the gift of treatment to the addicted individual within a positive atmosphere of love, dignity, trust and compassion. As Ed states, "(l)et's honor the addicted at that moment; let's give them reason to feel that they are special, that they are meaningful."
The Storti Model (TM) is premised in the idea that there is no need for family or friends to continually live with fear, anger, remorse, powerlessness or frustration. Addiction is a powerful illness, one that is progressive, chronic and fatal. However, one has the ability to create a positive crisis in his/her loved one's life. One can motivate a loved one to get the help he/she desperately needs. Through treatment, counseling, education and self awareness, your loved one can then become responsible for his/her issues of past, present and future. A transformation can occur.
With the help of The Storti Model (TM) and individualized addiction treatment, you can find recovery for your loved one. Intervention services and addiction treatment go hand and hand and have provided thousands of recovery stories. If you feel you or a loved one is in need of intervention and an alcohol or drug rehabilitation program, call Serenity Lodge and their trained professionals will gladly recommend the right treatment approach.
