KC Hollmer, CADC II, ICADC, Certified Relapse Prevention Specialist
President
KC has 18 years of strong and diverse counseling background as a Case Manager, Program Director, and Treatment Supervisor. He has superb leadership abilities, along with excellent communication skills. KC is a compassionate, analytical and skilled listener - he honors where the client is at and moves alongside him. He survived 25 years of addiction and lived to find his purpose in life, which is helping others. A United States Veteran and a member of the 1974 USC Trojans National Champion football team, he loves his country and his Trojans. KC enjoys being with his family, golfing, running and staying sober one day at a time.

Elwood Cohen
D.O. Board Certified Primary Care Medicine, and Academy of Family Practice
Dr. Cohen has over 50 years of health care service specializing in Osteopathic Physical Medicine, Disease Prevention and Intervention, and Alternative Medicine. Dr. Cohen was on the Board of Admissions at Western University Osteopathic Medical School and trained 4th year Preceptor Medical Students.

Rick McGuckin, M.A. Psy.D
Psychologist
Dr. Rick has been in private practice for 28 years. He specializes in working with individuals who suffer from depression and anxiety. Often people with an addiction have a secondary diagnosis of depression or bi-polar disorder, for example. In these cases, Dr. Rick works closely with Psychiatry to stabilize the patients' mood and clear their thinking. In his spare time, he enjoys water sports and golf.

Emerson McGhee, RAS II, CCDS
Program Director
A former EMT, Emerson has worked in the field of recovery for more than eight years and specializes in the care and management of challenging clients. An exceptional group facilitator, he focuses on developing therapeutic relationships with his clients and encourages them to be guided by spiritual principles. Having attended Pepperdine University he is currently pursuing his advanced degree in Human Services Management from the University of Phoenix. Emerson enjoys working out, yoga, listening to music and spending time with his daughter and grandson. A program advocate, Emerson nourishes his Sobriety by living life one day at a time.

Charles Winder, RAS II, CCDS
Lead Case Manager
Charles has 6 years’ experience in the drug and alcohol treatment field. He has worked in residential treatment facilities and has extensive training in Dual Diagnosis, Co-occurring Disorders, Motivational Interviewing, Problem Gambling, & Behavior Modification. Charles was presented the 2012 Residential Counselor of the Year Award by the County of San Bernardino. He was also part of the treatment team that received San Bernardino’s Department of Behavioral Health’s award for best completion and retention outcomes. Charles is attending San Bernardino Valley College and will be pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree at Cal State San Bernardino. Charles is also active in activities such as “Tough Mudder” obstacle course challenges and other physically demanding events. His philosophy towards recovery encompasses a holistic approach that allows clients to learn that recovery is a lifelong process that is achievable in the most difficult of circumstances.

Michael Maynard, B.A. CADC II
Case Manager
Michael is a Certified CADC II Alcohol and Drug Counselor. He is a graduate of Argosy University with a B.A. degree in Counseling Psychology with emphasis in addiction studies. Michael is currently pursuing his Masters degree in family therapy from the University of Southern California. He has extensive experience with in-patient and out-patient opiate addiction treatment (Methadone and Suboxone) and Dual Diagnosis. In addition, Michael holds certifications in Domestic Violence/Anger Management education and Addiction Intervention. Michael is in recovery and has 14 years of sobriety.

John Bjorge, RRW, M.A. Education & Human Development, B.A. Fine Arts
Education Director
Johnny B. is a recovering alcoholic with over 33 years of sobriety and whose road to recovery started on January 1st, 1980. His career includes eight years as a commissioned Naval Officer in the United States Navy, 15 years in various corporate training and development positions, and 20 years as a high school teacher. He holds a Master's Degree in Education and Human Development from The George Washington University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from Central Connecticut State University. John has a strong musical background and plays the piano, organ, and guitar. He also is passionate about his revovery and loves to share his experience, strength and hope with others. John is a published author who wrote a book on applying spiritual principles with high school students in a public school setting.

Ryan Roberts
Client Services Manager
Ryan is a former client of Serenity Lodge. Having been offered a position on staff, he is currently going to school and is a RASi intern. Ryan is in the business of helping others. He is an invaluable member of the Serenity Lodge family and makes himself available for anyone at any time. Ryan is enthusiastic about his recovery, life and helping others.

Daniel Voorhees
Director of Operations
Daniel received his B.A. degree from Loyola Marymount University in 1994, and his J.D. Law degree from Western State University, School of Law in 1999. Daniel serves as the Operations Manager and provides assistance, guidance, and support to all clients by sharing his experience, strength and hope.
